Open Question: should tsa be allowed to do this?

well here is my story and ill start it out as blunt as possible im a pothead...not a pot smoker a full blown pothead smoking a little less than a ounce a week i had gotten tickets to superbowl 46 and i was pumped to go...until i saw marijuana laws in indiana compared to massachusetts....indiana if you have a gram ($20) you go to jail for 6 months to a year in mass if you have 27 you get a fine if you have 28 6 months...so laws suck in indiana so i knew i didnt want to risk going to jail for a little bud so i decided to put my love down from thursday-monday afternoon well good thing i decided not to sneek it on my check in bag because when i get home i discovered a piece of paper from the transportation security administration (tsa) pretty much telling me they checked through my stuff and broke my lock but its ok cause in this printed piece of paper that they probably have stacked ceiling high throwing them into everyones bag like cheese after you put it on some fresh pasta sauce lol anyways the tsa said they sincerely regret having to do this however tsa is not liable for damage to your locks resulting from this nessary security precaution i mean come on why do they have the right to hand check my stuff arent xrays enough? im super glad i didnt sneak weed on but i feel like they invaded my privacy and personal space...so to sum it up im not looking to hear if weeds bad to sneak on a plane or this and that i just want to hear your opinions because me i think the body scanners and xrays are enough theres no reason to break locks and leave notes its creepy heres a story about a rapper that went through the same airport as i did this past time and they left him a note saying c'mon man and let him keep it.... http://www.defsounds.com/hip-hop-news/tsa-investigating-freddie-gibbs-for-tweeting-picture-of-weed-inspection-notice/ and theres another one going around about a women traveling with a vibrator and when they searched the bag and left the same note as me it said get your freak on girl....like what the hell thats not right!...
